A hybrid learning environment is a course in which some of its content is delivered online.  At Wayne State, a course can be classified as hybrid if less than 100% of the instructional time is spent with students and instructors face-to-face.  Hybrid courses blend the online and traditional classroom, typically utilizing online content and discussions, with a limited number of face-to-face meetings.

Because hybrid courses contain elements of both traditional and online courses, additional resources from both sections of the handbook will be relevant in helping you design your hybrid course.
