Assessment of Instructors
Assessment with a course can be thought of as a conversation between instructors and students. While we typically discuss assessing our students, instructors can also benefit from strategies that provide developmental feedback on the teaching and learning environment. This includes students' perceptions of what's working and what could be changed or improved in the course, as well as feedback on how time is being spent.
Opportunities for instructors to reflect on their growth and development as teachers can help make positive changes to their course design. It also serves to increase better communication between the instructor and students. As is true for students, it is also important for instructors to get feedback in two fundamental ways: formative assessment strategies and summative assessment strategies. This section provides information and advice about assessment of instructors.
